Post Religious Age of the Pyramids.
Welcome to the post religious age of the pyramids. Times are desperate and harsh. For every wonder there is a fight. No technology is for free and land is faster claimed than explored.
Well, normally we play peacefully ^^, help each other out and still try to win. You can only join when you are fine with this. Founding cities respectfully according to the land of your neighbours, only claim natural wonders that are yours anyways (most of the time) and sometimes drop a wonder so the other players can still have a nice game. All those does ofc not apply to the AI.

even though one with which I am not entirely happy. But at least we started to have a nice game, so we can have a look at the beginning. Dj, as Morocco, me as Huns. Peaceful, ofc!
Both of us spawned on the largest continent that ever spawned in any game we've played (yay!:)). Northern from dj, the aztecs quickly established a pretty sizeable empire with a couple of cities. Even though the aztecs had plenty of space in each direction from their capital, they decided to settle southwards, towards dj. Maybe it is worth mentioning that they had authority as their social policy ^^.
Well, it all turned out that neither dj needs to worry about the aztecs nor do I need to make plans where to expand next. After the first couple of rounds we ended up with a great menu stream. Which finally let me adjust the joining rules etc. again. I guess it would've been a nice and interesting game. On to the next :).
Dj Carthage, me China.
Interesting map.
The beginning.
It all started so small and peaceful. Have a look at turn 0 with my starting location.
The progression.
Turn 60. Already unhappy. Not too many cities BUT, and that is amazing, I explored more of my land and realized that it is very likely that I am alone and therefore have my own continent.
Having a look at Djs perspective, here already turn 113, he has a nice but very hilly and mountainish land. Also in the west he has Germany as a direct neighbour. But so far they kinda got along very well. In addition there are the Zulus, Netherlands, Indonesia and Rome.
Really Germany?
At around turn 220 the AI decided to spice it up a bit. First Zulus, then Netherlands, then Germany and finally Indonesia declared war on me. Beside Zulus and Netherlands being a bit annoying, Indonesia never reached my borders. BUT Germany (playing with tradition) decided to tryhard on my coast. Not only them, but also their stupid city state ally captured one, or rather overall two, of my precious cities! Have a look:
The nukes (finally).
Actually the only thing that really saved me from Germany, and kinda also from the others, where, right, the NUKES! Finally we had them. Before...
and...well ... after.
So close.
We should not conceal Djs sneaky attempt to win. As it seemed that I was technologically to far ahead Dj, without mentioning it ofc ^^, started to go for an economic victory. Even though I do not know all the details, he only was ONE(!) luxury resource away from achieving it!
The Backstab.
BUT! Before he could finish it, the backstab happend. Dj, earlier enjoying and praising Germany, suddenly had to change his mind when Germany decided they had enough of bullying me/getting bullied by me and declared war on Dj. Then Indonesia, who made peace with me long ago as well as Rome decided to join in as well. As DJs victory condition was based on the trading of luxury resources with those Civs there was no way of achieving victory in this game for him anymore. So he conceded and offered me the victory. The backstab itself, looks pretty impressive though:
Conclusion.
Even though Dj told me that I would get the victory and I was ahead technologically, having a final look at the demographics, Dj, was not only not doing bad, but was doing outstandingly well! His production was from another planet (I had the production belief and he was still had more than me) and so many more things happened which I am not able to describe rn.
Overall I think it was a pretty epic and amazing game and one of the very few we actually were able to kinda finish. Great experience!
An interesting side note might be that we started the game on the 7th. of May and finished it 15 days later on the 22nd (with ofc a lot of breaks in between).
